Perfection (Dedicated to Luci)

I remember hearing someone
Not a long time ago
Saying perfection isn't being flawless
It's being you and not bending with the flow
Any time I was upset she'd sit and talk to me
Lecture me about how I shouldn't hold it in
She didn't want to see me blue
Was worried that darkness might win

She called me beautiful and amazing
Put glitter in my hair
Every single time I've been down
She's always been there
Proping me up
Despite any resistance
She's a beautiful soul too you see
She's been the distance

Because we're all so very different
We all walk different paths
And our minds aren't organised
And neithers what they craft
Sometimes you'll feel all alone
Like yesterday's broken toy
But stay on your feet
It'll get better soon
Because being perfect is being you

Souless lens

Numbers and phrases rattle and echo in her empty head
The most pressing of which is thoughts of her bed
The words muttered are little more than white noise
What she's doing as important as playing with toys
 Staring dully through a window

At the boring brick walls

At the bars to keep them in

As silence falls

A questions been asked to a daydreaming fool
He splutters and mutters like a total tool
And she sits and waits for the bell to chime
And waits for the freedom of 3:10 home time

Endless Void

Falling down in an empty void
   Darkness swirling around
Head over feet the wind rushes past me
            And still
                I wait
                    to hit
                       the ground

Dark Shadows

A lot of people say i'm dark
Or make some other smart remark
Yes
I am a little twisted
I have
A faded light
And occasionally red will cloud my sight

But even darkness has something bright
And the darkest shadows are cast by the brightest lights

Repetition

Write write write rewrite
An endless cycles through the night
Work work work more work
Not a disturbing twitch or jerk
Tick tock upon the clock that never stops
Worked until we drop

Assassin

Cold and clear in the gleaming night
Her eyes glow with dark delight
A knife in her hand, thrown with grace
To land in a forehead, scarlet blood on his face

A twirl of hair and the blur of a cloak
In the evening light the girl is smoke
And with little more than a scuffle and fight
She disappears into the concealing light

Isolation

A cold loneliness surrounds me
Doom follows and rots all I hold dear
And I've just about had enough
Of the pain and of this fear
Maybe one day I'll find my place
And maybe it will survive the poison that guards me
Or maybe everything will remain the same
Maybe I won't even get to see
                                 I'm losing the will
                                        Starting to yield not fight

                      Maybe if I just left

                                                                       Everything would be aright.
